Make learning more accessible
Reduce part of the financial burden associated with structured language training and enable more eligible young people to begin or continue learning.
A language can create access to knowledge, employment, international studies and new professional networks. WALE EDUCATION is opening its 2026–2027 language scholarship programme to eligible candidates from six Asian countries.
Bangladesh • Nepal • Cambodia • Vietnam • India • Laos
For many young people across Asia, learning another language can make a significant difference in the opportunities available to them. It can strengthen an academic application, improve employability, support entrepreneurship or make international mobility more accessible.
Yet access to structured language education can remain difficult for candidates whose financial resources are limited.
The WALE EDUCATION 2026–2027 Language Scholarship has therefore been developed to help reduce part of this financial barrier for eligible candidates in Bangladesh, Nepal, Cambodia, Vietnam, India and Laos.
Selected beneficiaries may be connected with participating language centres in the cities covered by the programme, according to available courses, capacity and active partnerships.
The purpose of the scholarship goes beyond paying part of a language course. WALE EDUCATION wants beneficiaries to connect the language they learn with a real academic, professional or personal objective.
Reduce part of the financial burden associated with structured language training and enable more eligible young people to begin or continue learning.
Encourage candidates to build language skills that can be applied to education, employment, business, travel and international communication.
Help beneficiaries prepare themselves for environments where communicating across languages and cultures can create new academic and professional possibilities.
Under the WALE EDUCATION Asia Scholarship, each selected candidate may receive financial support covering 50% of eligible language course tuition fees, up to a maximum scholarship contribution of USD 350.
The remaining portion of the tuition fees is paid by the beneficiary. Course schedules, payment arrangements and any costs not included in the scholarship are communicated before final enrolment with the participating language centre.
Scholarship amounts are communicated in US dollars for the Asia programme. Local payment arrangements may vary according to the country and participating centre.
The 2026–2027 Asia programme focuses on candidates from Bangladesh, Nepal, Cambodia, Vietnam, India and Laos. Each country has its own educational, professional and economic environment, which is why WALE EDUCATION places the candidate’s individual project at the centre of the application.
For Bangladeshi candidates, additional language skills can strengthen academic and professional profiles and support projects involving international employment, higher education, business or mobility. The programme seeks to make structured language learning more accessible to candidates with a clear plan for using those skills.
In Nepal, foreign-language skills can complement studies, tourism-related careers, international employment and mobility. WALE EDUCATION aims to support young people who want to turn language learning into a practical asset for their future academic or professional path.
Cambodian candidates may use additional language skills to prepare for opportunities in education, tourism, services, international organisations, business and cross-border communication. The scholarship helps reduce part of the cost of developing those skills.
Vietnam's strong connection with international trade, education, tourism and business creates many environments where additional language skills can be valuable. The scholarship encourages candidates to connect their language choice with a specific academic or career objective.
In India, learning an additional foreign language can support careers in technology, international trade, tourism, services, education and multinational organisations. WALE EDUCATION encourages applicants to demonstrate how their chosen language can complement their existing qualifications and ambitions.
For candidates in Laos, access to additional language training can help strengthen educational and employment pathways and facilitate communication with international visitors, organisations and businesses. The programme seeks to make this training more financially accessible.
WALE EDUCATION considers the relationship between the language selected and the applicant's personal project.
Applicants are therefore encouraged to explain clearly why they want to learn the language and how they intend to use the skills they acquire.
The Asia scholarship is intended for candidates residing in one of the six countries covered by the programme who want to undertake a structured language-learning project.
Meeting the general eligibility requirements allows a candidate to submit an application but does not automatically guarantee the award of a scholarship.
WALE EDUCATION plans to select up to 50 beneficiaries per participating country during each monthly selection cycle, subject to eligible applications, available places and active partner centre capacity.
Scholarship results are published through the WALE EDUCATION website according to the timetable established for each selection cycle.
Selected candidates can then complete the required enrolment procedures with the designated partner centre in preparation for the next available course intake.
Complete the official scholarship application form and provide the requested information about your language project.
WALE EDUCATION reviews the information provided and checks whether the application meets the programme requirements.
Applications are reviewed according to the applicable scholarship criteria and available places.
Selected beneficiaries may be directed to an eligible participating language centre to complete enrolment.
If you live in Bangladesh, Nepal, Cambodia, Vietnam, India or Laos and want to develop language skills connected to a real academic, professional or international project, submit your application for the WALE EDUCATION Language Scholarship.
